English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
Welcome to the Intensive English as a
Second Language Program at Coe College.
The Intensive English as a Second Language
Program is well known and highly respected in the academic
community. We have been offering small classes and guidance
from qualified instructors for nearly 30 years.
The mission of the Intensive English as
a Second Language Program is to help prepare students for
academic study in the U.S. or professional development at
home. In our program students will develop English proficiency,
academic skills, and confidence.
We tailor our program, each semester and
adapt to meet the goals and needs of our students.
Our small classes and high student-to-teacher
ratio allow us to give each student the mentoring that they
need.
Students in our Intensive ESL Program
are often here to prepare for study in the U.S. and for
professional development.
There are many opportunities for field
trips, fun, and friendship.
- Practice English with conversation
partners
- Meet American families
- Live with an English speaking Roommate
Since Coe is a small college, the atmosphere
is friendly and supportive. Cedar Rapids is a safe and pleasant
city, with many opportunities to meet Americans.
