Welcome to the English as a Second Language Department at Coe College.

The English as a Second Language Department is well known and highly respected in the academic community. We have been offering small classes and guidance from qualified instructors for nearly 30 years.

We are experienced in welcoming students from 4 continents. In our 30 years, students have studied with us from many counties.

Our department operates three main programs:

• Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL)
• Summer Academic Orientation classes
• Thematic Studies Abroad (TSA) with Waseda University

We tailor our programs from semester to semester to meet the needs and specific interests of our students.

There are many opportunities for field trips, fun, and friendship.
