REFERENCE DEPARTMENT

Collections
The department maintains an extensive collection of Reference materials supporting the curriculum at Coe, including electronic resources available on the library webpage at library.coe.edu.  Contact Jill Jack, Head of Reference, to suggest titles for purchase or links for the webpage.

Assistance
Consult department staff for help using resources or finding information in the library or on the web. Reference assistance is available from 8:00 am-4:30 (Monday-Friday).

Reference Desk assistance (x8586) is available at these times when classes are in session:

Monday - Thursday     10:00 am to 4pm; 8 pm to 10:30 pm
Friday    10:00 am to 4 pm

Assistance is also available by appointment and electronically.  Call or email Jill Jack (Jjack; x8017) or Harlene Hansen (hhansen; x8016) for special assistance for you or a student. 

Instructional Services
The department offers a wide variety of instructional services to meet the needs of faculty and students.  Contact Jill or Harlene for further information, to talk through assignments or to make appointments for your classes.

Interlibrary Loan (ILLIAD)
A free service for faculty, staff and students providing materials the library does not own, using state-of-the-art technology including OCLC, FAX and ARIEL.  Forms are available on the table behind the Reference Counter and we encourage you to make your requests electronically through OCLCís FirstSearch service.  Consult Harlene Hansen with questions about ILL.
