10-17-03 Chapter Retreat Luau
The annual New Member Retreat was held at Sally Sandberg's house in Cedar Rapids, many new and fresh ideas on Greek Relations, motivation, etc were brainstormed, as well as fun had by all (not to mention lots of pigging-out!).

10-10-03 Open bidding continues
Sarah Dorff signs her open bid!! The new member class is now at 16 women! Congrats!

10-04-03 Family Weekend BBQ
The sisters of Delta Eta hosted the annual Family Weekend BBQ for family and relatives.  The even was a huge success.  It was also Homecoming Weekend at Coe and Tri Delta got 3rd place in the float competition. Congrats!

9-30-03 New Member Class Grows
Ashley Baxter, Ginny Johnsen, Sara Kopp, and Vicki Lamos all received open bids and signed, joining Tri Delta! Congrats, Tri Delta is excited you joined!

Week of 5-5-03- Candle Lightings

Kristin Strohm received a promise ring from her boyfriend, Dustin Briggs on Monday 5-5-03.  Thursday, 5-8-03, Amanda Linderbaum, received an engagement ring from her boyfriend Adam Stahle.
 
 

3-15-03 Delta Eta Initiates Three

Three new members were officially initiated into Delta Delta Delta during Friday's Trident Degree and Saturday's Stars and Crescent Degree.  The Spring 2003 pledge class includes Stephanie Koch, Donielle Reid, and Tara Ely.  Congrats to the newest members of Delta Eta!!

3-2-03 Delta Eta holds Annual Dessert Gala

The Delta Eta chapter of Delta Delta Delta, raised over $3,600 in the third annual Dessert Gala, held this past Sunday.  The combination of ticket sales and the silent auction donations will proceed children's cancer, the national philanthropic cause of Tri-Delta.  Over the past three years the women of Delta Eta have raised over $12,000 for St. Jude's (children's cancer).

11-13-02 Delta Eta Dances the Night Away

The fall 2002 Delta Eta pledge class planned and hosted the annual New Member Dance on Saturday, November 9.The new members plan a themed dance but keep that theme a secret.Only one clue is revealed to the other members of the chapter.The rest of the chapter has to then dress according to what they think the theme is.This year’s t heme turned out to be “Rhinestone Cowboy.”The dance lasted from 9 pm to midnight.

11-13-02 Delta Eta Initiates Fifteen

Fifteen new members were officially initiated into Delta Delta Delta during Friday’s Trident Degree and Saturday’s Stars and Crescent Degree.The fall 2002 pledge class includes Lisa Albers, Alaina Anderson, Cari Barger, Andrea Christoffel, Laura Dawson, Darcy Ehrmann, Samantha Honson, Ashley Hubler, Melissa Kalensky, Ricca Klein, Jen Lewis, Erinn Odell, Andrea Pignotti, Traci Schott and Lauren Sensenbrenner.The newest members attended their first chapter meeting on Sunday night.

11-01-02 Trick-Or-Treat for Cans Benefits the Hungry in Cedar Rapids

Deltas dressed in their letters and went door-to-door in the Cedar Rapids community on Halloween night asking for non-perishable donations for the Madge Phillips Center of Cedar Rapids.The event is held as an annual philanthropic event.

10-27-02 Family Barbeque a Success

The Tri-Deltas held their first-ever family barbeque on Saturday in the lobby of Voorhees hall.Eighty guests turned out at the event to meet the Tri-Delta women.Parents and siblings conversed, received tours of the chapter room and were given a Tri-Delta newsletter to inform them of what’s happening within the chapter.Meat was grilled by Mike McGill, a friend of the chapter.

10-26-02 Klein Signs Bid Card

A bid card was extended and accepted by Ricca Klein on Friday.Klein has resided on the Delta wing since the beginning of the school year and will now become an official member of Tri-Delta at November’s initiation ceremony.

10-18-02 Chapter Holds Annual Retreat
The chapter held its annual New Member retreat at the Solon Community center on Friday.The purpose of the event is to welcome the chapter’s newest members and strengthen relations among all members.Activities included blind, haunted ginger house building, pumpkin carving and a skit to honor the seniors.The chapter also set goals for the upcoming year.

12-6-01 Deltas Reap Awards at Convention

Delta Eta President, Maggie Wells accepted 4 awards on behalf of her chapter at the Delta Delta Delta National Convention held in Orlando, Florida July 2-6, 2002. The chapter was awarded with the Best First Time Philanthropy Award for their Dessert Gala and Silent Auction held in March. Other awards included Philanthropy Honor Roll, Formal Recruitment Honor Roll and the National Reaching for Excellence Award. TriDelta National Convention is held biannually in July.

10-8-02 Delta Families To Be Guests at Coe

The women of Tri-Delta announced today that plans are underway for a family barbeque to be held during Coe’ s Family Weekend, October 26-27, 2002 The barbeque will be held on Saturday, the twenty-sixth before Coe’s football game. Members of the chapter’s immediate families will be invited to attend.

10-2-02 Open Bids Extended

Carisa Barger, Jennifer Lewis and Andrea Pignotti signed bid cards to become official members of Delta Delta Delta on October 1, 2002. All three women will be officially initiated alongside the other eleven new members in early November.

10-1-02 Sponsor Revelation Gets Messy

Newest members of the Delta Eta chapter uncovered their sponsors today during a pie eating extravaganza. Each new member was given a whip cream pie with a picture of their sponsor at the bottom. The girls were to get to the bottom of the pie in any way they chose. One sponsor (also referred to as a Big Sister) is appointed to each new member in order to help the member ease into college and fraternity life more smoothly.

9-30-02 Creativity Benefits Children With Cancer

Each member of the Tri-Delta fraternity created cards to help brighten the day for two young children who have been diagnosed with cancer. The cards are part of an ongoing effort to help support Children’s Cancer Charities, the Delta Delta Delta national philanthropy.

9-23-02 Chapter Grows By Eleven

Eleven rushees ran down the steps of Voorhees Hall and into Delta’s welcoming arms Sunday night as Rush weekend concluded on Coe’s campus. Delta Eta was happy to invite the following women into the Delta Eta chapter: Lisa Albers, Alaina Anderson, Andrea Christoffel, Laura Dawson, Darcy Ehrmann, Samantha Honson, Ashley Hubler, Melissa Kalensky, Erinn Odell, Traci Schott and Lauren Sensenbrenner.

9-20-02 Boll Earns Spot on Homecoming Court

Delta Eta Vice President of Administration, Carla Boll, was nominated to Coe College’s 2002-2003 Homecoming Court. Boll is one of the eleven royalty voted on by the Coe College student body and staff. Homecoming will be held September 27-29 with king and queen to be announced at the school bonfire on Saturday night.

9-10-02 Deltas Earn Scholastic Achievement

The Delta Delta Delta chapter of Coe College was honored Monday night at the Coe All-Greek Scholarship Banquet for having the highest grade point average of all Greek sororities and fraternities on campus. This is the second consecutive year that the Deltas have won the award.

9-1-02 Delta Eta Chapter to Hold Fall Rush

Coe College Women’s Rush has been scheduled for September 20-22, 2002. First night parties will begin at 6:30 pm in Lower Gage Union, Second day parties are planned to begin at 9:30 am in Sinclair Auditorium with Preference to follow Sunday morning at 10:00 am. All Coe College women are invited to participate. Sign-up times and location to be announced by the college at a later date.
