Research Interests

As a gross generalization, my research has explored individual differences and their relation to cognitive processes that underlie person perception and emotion. Thus as a graduate student I did work with Jay G. Hull on, among other things, self-consciousness. My doctoral thesis focused on the relation of interaction goals to the Five Factor model of personality traits. While at Coe, students have assisted me with studies investigating topics such emotional intensity and physiological arousal, religiosity, and attentional processes.
