What is Random?

 

We have now seen the definition of random.

But to truly understand randomness we will need to look at its

history & properties.

 

In doing this we will look at some different randomizing devices

and their possible outcomes.

 

A randomizing device is an object which when used

(tossed, flipped, thrown,...), can produce

different & unpredictable outcomes.

There are many different types of randomizing devices.

Two of the most common ones are the COIN and the DIE.
