Unfortunately a majority of political polls are not trying to get your honest answers to questions.
Instead they are created by political action committees who are trying to at least get you to answer questions the way they want you to answer them (if not getting you to think the way they think).
    
For instance...
  '1) Do you believe the President should help the US economy?'
  '2) Many US jobs have been outsourced in foreign countries in the past 4 years. Do you think out sourcing jobs is a good idea?'
          ...
  '10) Do you think the President is doing a good job helping the US economy?
    
Here not only to we have leading questions (like #2) but the whole survey is designed to get you to answer 'No' to question #10.
