In honor of Halloween, the Coe College Concert Band will perform magical music (from the film “ET”) from the pen of John Williams,
as well as Eric Whitacre's haunted "Ghost Train." Coe's new flute professor, Shivhan Dohse, will be featured in a piccolo solo newly arranged for the band by Coe's music education professor,
Steve Shanley. Rounding out the band portion of the concert will be a performance of a newly-commissioned work (the Iowa premiere)
by beloved American composer, David Holsinger.
The Jazz Band will perform music by Duke Ellington (featuring Dr. Carson on clarinet),
Count Basie, and Cedar Rapids native, Bret Zvacek. This concert event is free and open to the public.
