Alan Lawrence, M.M.

Alan Lawrence, who began teaching at Coe College in 1992, has been Principal Timpanist of the Cedar Rapids Symphony since 1989, and Principal Percussionist of the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band since 1995.  For the past several years, Mr. Lawrence has also served the New Horizons Band of Cedar Rapids (an ensemble for musicians over 50 years of age) as its first conductor.  Mr. Lawrence holds degrees from West Texas State University and the University of New Mexico in Music Education and Percussion Performance.
