Based on the nominations, a committee at Coe College will select the bands: two Elementary Honor Bands (approximately 110 members each), one Junior Honor Band and one Senior Honor Band (approximately 90 members each). 6th grade students may be nominated for either the Elementary Honor Band or the Junior Honor Band and 8th grade students may be considered for the Senior Honor Band. Every school submitting nominations will have at least one student selected.

In addition to working with David Shaffer, students selected for the 10th Annual Coe College Elementary Honor Band will rehearse with David Law, recently retired from Vernon Middle School in the Marion Independent School District. The Coe College Junior Honor Band will be directed by Steve Shanley and the Coe College Senior Honor Band will be directed by Dr. William S. Carson.

There is a $12.00 registration fee for students selected to the Elementary Honor Band and a $25.00 fee for students selected to the Junior and Senior Honor Bands. This fee will include dinner for the Junior and Senior Honor Band on April 14, and lunch for the Elementary Honor Bands on April 20.
All Honor Band participants will have an opportunity to get complimentary tickets to the Coe College Concert Band and Wind Ensemble performance on Saturday, April 20, at 8:00 pm, with guest conductor/composers, David Shaffer and Ted A. Vives.
Concert tickets for the Elementary Honor Bands should be ordered in advance by emailing bands@coe.edu no later than April 1:
General Admission $5.00 Under 18, Over 65, $3.00
Concert tickets for the Junior and Senior Honor Bands should be ordered in advance by emailing bands@coe.edu no later than April 1:
General Admission $6.00 Under 18, Over 65, $4.00
