It is important for directors to establish their students' availability for and interest in this organization before nominating them. In addition to working with Robert W. Smith, students selected for the 7th Annual Coe College Elementary Honor Band will rehearse with Kevin Makinster, elementary band director from the Linn-Mar Community School District. The Coe College Junior Honor Band will be directed by Mr. David Law of Vernon Middle School in the Marion Independent School District and the Coe College Senior Honor Band will be directed by Dr. William S. Carson of Coe College.
There is a $12.00 registration fee for students selected to the Elementary Honor Band and a $25.00 fee for students selected to the Junior and Senior Honor Bands. This fee will include dinner for the Junior and Senior Honor Band on April 11, and lunch for the Elementary Honor Bands on April 17.
All Honor Band participants will have an opportunity to get complimentary tickets to the Coe College Concert Band and Wind Ensemble performance on Saturday, April 17, at 8:00 pm, with guest conductor/composer, Len Orcino.
Concert tickets for the Elementary Honor Bands may be ordered in advance by emailing bands@coe.edu no later than April 1:
General Admission $5.00 Under 18, Over 65, $3.00
Concert tickets for the Junior and Senior Honor Bands may be ordered in advance by emailing bands@coe.edu no later than April 1:
General Admission $6.00 Under 18, Over 65, $4.00
