A Band for Every Musician

The band program at Coe College is the proud home to all kinds of musicians. Students of all ability levels are welcome to join: whether you're a performance major who plays on a professional level or a casual player who just picked up your instrument again after a few years, you will still have the opportunity to learn, grow, perform, and shine.

Not in college yet?

Coe College hosts prestigious honor bands at the junior, senior, and elementary level. Young students get to work first hand not only with college music professors, but with guest composers and conductors as well.

Not a student?

Over 20 years ago the Concert Band opened its doors to community members, including alumni and local musicians.

Love jazz?

Coe's Gold Jazz Ensemble is a select, skilled group that performs several times a year both on and off campus. They are featured at Jazz Summit and have the opportunity to play alongside famous guest artists from Delbert Bernabela to the Quartet of Happiness.

Retired?

Alan Lawrence, the percussion instructor at Coe, directs the New Horizons Band, a group for senior citizens and retirees.
