Charles "Andy"  Harris, M.M.
 
 

 
Charles Harris has been a member of the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra since September 1995 and was selected to be Principal Horn of the CRSO in August 1998, and also accepted the position of Assistant Principal Horn in the Des Moines Symphony. Mr. Harris performs with the symphony woodwind and brass quintets. Andy also currently plays Principal Horn with the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band. Previously, he has performed with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, the Albany (GA) Symphony Orchestra, the Arkansas Symphony, the Fort Smith (AR) Symphony, and the Symphony Orchestra of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Charles is currently a resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is Horn instructor at Coe College and the Cedar Rapids Symphony School, in addition to maintaining a private horn studio.

Originally from Fulton, Missouri, he received his B.M. in Horn Performance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his M.M. from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Teachers have included Dr. Randall Faust, Lawrence Lowe, W. Peter Kurau, James Decker, William Scharnberg, David M. Bushouse, and the late Arnold Jacobs and Philip Farkas.
