The Jazz Program
Most of the members of Coe's Jazz program are selected from within the membership of the Concert Band. Coe's Gold Jazz Ensemble performs several times per year on campus, as well as representing the college throughout the community. Coe's Jazz Combos performs both on- and off-campus, providing improvisation experience for members of the Coe band program. Coe annually brings a number of jazz professionals on campus for several days to work with the Coe jazz students and perform with them in the concerts of the popular Jazz Summit. The Jazz schedule consists of band sessions on Tuesdays (7:00-8:30 p.m.) and Thursdays (4:15-5:45 p.m.), and combo sessions on Tuesdays (8:30-9:30 p.m.). Selected additional meetings are based on the students’ schedules.
